Pub

Over the years, The Churchill Tavern has transformed from being the site of the Isabella Baths (1816), a boarding house and the Paragon Hotel (1868), the Van Gogh Pub (1961), Steptoe’s Pub (1983) and finally to it’s current state (1988).

The current owners stripped and re-constructed the pub as a typical English country Inn. The Churchill Tavern has now earned the enviable reputation of being "the best country pub in town".

We not only pride ourselves on offering an authentic country pub atmosphere but have an excellent reputation for offering hearty traditional food and a wide (and ever changing) selection of quality real ales.

The Churchill Tavern is also highly regarded for its selection of live music acts that play here regularly. Be it folk, jazz, rock or our extremely popular jam nights we have something here for everyone - check out our upcoming events for more details.

It isn’t just us who think we deserve such a reputation for such a quality, we’ve been awarded the CAMRA pub of the year award for Thanet on more than one occasion!
